Fridge water and ice filters
The fridge water and ice filter sits inside the fridge or behind the grille at the bottom.
Find the right fit
- Model number. Start with the fridge model number. It is on a label inside the fridge, on a side wall or under the crisper drawers. Filters are listed by the fridge brand and model they fit.
- Part number. Then the part number printed on the old filter. Copy it exactly; one letter can mean a different filter.
- Two or more retailers. Look the model or part number up at two or more retailers. Buy the one listed as a fit for your model, and check the printed size or part number on the box matches.
What to look for
- A filter listed for your fridge model number.
- The certification seal on the package says what the filter takes out of the water.
- After a swap, run a few glasses of water through to clear the air out of the line.
When to swap
As often as the filter or the manual says, often every 6 months.
