Furnace humidifier pads
The pad sits behind the cover of the humidifier, a box on the large metal air pipes of the furnace.
Find the right fit
- Model number. Start with the humidifier model number, on a label on the humidifier cover or in its manual.
- Part number. Then the pad number printed on the old pad or on a label inside the cover. Shut the system off at the thermostat before you open the cover.
- Two or more retailers. Look the model or part number up at two or more retailers. Buy the one listed as a fit for your model, and check the printed size or part number on the box matches.
What to look for
- Same number, same width and thickness as the old pad.
- A pad that is crusted or stiff is done, even before its date.
- Keep one spare for the heating season.
When to swap
As often as the pad or the manual says, often once a heating season.
