UV bulbs

Some furnaces and water systems use a UV (ultraviolet) light bulb that wears out on a schedule.

Find the right fit

  1. Model number. Start with the UV unit model number, on its label or in the manual.
  2. Part number. Then the replacement bulb part number printed on the label or in the manual.
  3. Two or more retailers. Look the model or part number up at two or more retailers. Buy the one listed as a fit for your model, and check the printed size or part number on the box matches.

What to look for

  • Check the printed replacement interval and part number. That means how often the label says to replace the bulb, and which bulb it takes.
  • Note both in the Reminder Tool or the home hunt so the reminder says which bulb.

When to swap

As often as the label or the manual says.

Set a reminder for the next one in the Reminder Tool or the home hunt.
